New Call of Duty Studio Heads on Redefining Infinity Ward’s DNA in 2026, Mourning Vince Zampella
Infinity Ward has announced new studio leaders for the Call of Duty series, but neither is an immediate replacement for the team that once led the studio through its defining moments. Jack O’Hara, whose name appears in production since 2012, and Mark Grigsby, who worked on animation in 2005 before leaving for Respawn, are now stepping into roles that honor the legacy of the team that created it. Their commitment to staying true to the studio’s bold design and values is evident in their statements.
O’Hara emphasized the importance of preserving the DNA of the crew that shaped the studio. "We still want to push for the vibe we had back then," he said. "It was a vibe that continues to live here, even after many years." While the pandemic hit the studio in recent years, they remain focused on their passion and drive, stating they were "as passionate as we were back in 2003, 2005, it's still there."
Grigsby also highlighted the role of culture in shaping the studio’s identity. "Our culture is about making the best game possible, being passionate about your craft, and listening to feedback with open minds," he continued. He added, "We’ve always tried to make the best game possible, even when we had challenges."
